Annual Programme 2026
Kunsthaus Zürich will present a multifaceted exhibition programme in 2026, inviting you to rediscover the familiar in new ways. Expect vibrant paintings by Kerry James Marshall that tell of the life and history of the African-American community. You will also discover Félicien Rops, who challenges double standards and gender norms with provocative, often erotic images. Melancholy awaits you in Vilhelm Hammershøi’s empty, dusky interiors.
Another highlight is the first major exhibition of the Venezuelan-American artist Marisol, known above all for her colourfully painted wooden sculptures. In addition, paintings by Maria Lassnig and Edvard Munch will be shown together for the first time: both artists make emotions and physical sensations visible through colour.
In addition, the exhibition of Lygia Clark, one of South America’s most important artists, remains on view, featuring installations that can in part be entered and touched. The ReCollect! series also continues to be accessible, with presentations by Wu Tsang and Wolfgang Laib, who engaged with the Kunsthaus Zürich collection and reinterpreted it through their own works. The 'Art for All' programme also continues: Monster Chetwynd’s more than eight-metre-high head 'Zardoz' in the Garden of Art remains freely accessible, as does Jeffrey Gibson’s colourful installation in the foyer of the Chipperfield building.
The year 2026 will be diverse, inspiring and rich in new perspectives on media, epochs and artistic positions.
